Challenge 7 - Triplet Picnic

Challenge 7 was a bit tricky for me. The first part of the challenge was to use 10 photos. Okay, I tend to take a lot of photos but rarely do I use more than 2 or 3 photos on a page. Luckily, I had a lot of photo opportunities to choose from this past week. My first thought was to go with photos I had taken at a birthday party I attended last week. But then changed my mind because I felt uncomfortable putting my friend's child on the internet. My next choice was the YMCA photos of the kids playing at their sports class. I tried to get 10 good photos on Monday but didn't manage to get that many good ones. So, I then was left with the triplet picnic photos that I had taken this past Sunday. I did have 10 good ones. Horray! I just had to put my photos in the layout, select background paper, journal and add a title. This is what I had done.

The 2nd part of the challenge
, I had to pass my layout to Gail and she had to embellish it. Wow, look what she had turned my layout into. She changed the title, changed the font for the journaling, added the date in a circle, added stitches around my focal photo, added their names in tags and added the beautiful butterfly that matches so nicely with the colors of the photos. Gorgeous Gail. I love it.

The last couple of days have been very busy for me with many activities for the children to attend but I did manage to work on Gail's layout within the chaos of my life. My challenge was to embellish her layout. It was a bit tricky. I started out working on it then got stumped. For the first time in my life really I actually had to sleep on the layout and not finish it. I just wanted her layout to be so nice and didn't want to disappoint her. So I started it I think Monday night and didn't finish it until Tuesday morning. I had to think of how I wanted it to look. Luckily, her page was about her son and I had collected some son things along my digital travels. Gail will share what I had done to her layout in another post.

Glad challenge 7 is complete. Sure hope challenge 8 will be a little easier.

It was a lot of fun working on your layout, Laura. All of my children are grown and I only have a 14 year old daughter left at home now. I don't get a chance to work on pages of small children. I couldn't have had cuter kids to work with either! Thanks for letting me work with you on this page. I'll get mine up a little later. Stay tuned!
